Originally from Al-Andalus in today’s Spain, alfajores are sweets popular in Spain and across South America. You can buy quite a few ready-made varieties, but you can also make your own. Watch the video for a Peruvian version of alfajores and enjoy the sweet dulce de leche underscored by the very lightly salty cornstarch cookie.

Although alfajores are traditionally round in shape, we were not so rigorous as you can see on the top photo – let your fantasy play 🙂
